Read Jay Seegmiller's candidate survey where he confessed his true political agenda.

1. Jay supports recognizing same-sex unions. Even though 71% of House District 49 voted for Constitutional Amendment 3 in 2004, which traditionally defined marriage as being between a man and a woman and allowed for no other recognition of gay marriage or union.

2. Jay supports legalizing the drug marijuana. He's admitted that he wants to legalize marijuana for "medicinal" purposes. It's part of a bigger agenda to legalize marijuana without restrictions.

And Mitt Romney agrees.

When asked about legalizing medical marijuana Mitt Romney said, "I believe that marijuana should be illegal in our country. It is the pathway to drug usage by our society, which is a great scourge, which is one of the great causes of crime in our cities...It's the wrong way to go. We need less drugs in our society not more drugs...I would oppose the legalization of marijuana in the country or legalization of marijuana for medicinal purposes because pain management is available from other sources."

3. Jay didn't support requiring parents to be notified by an abortion clinic before a minor had the unthinkable done. Moreover he didn't support prohibiting public funding for abortions either. Of course, once his issue position became better known he flip-flopped and devised an election-year excuse. Actually he's had made up two different excuses. First he said he forgot to answer the question. Then he said he purposely skipped the question. And the liberal media has been all too willing to give him a free-pass on his conflicting election-year excuses.

4. Jay wants to raise taxes. There's a hardly a tax he doesn't want to raise. He'll raise gas taxes, vehicle taxes, income taxes on 3 out of 4 homes in the district (those who make more than $75,000 per year), and capital gains taxes. He'll even raise taxes if you have too many dependents (although this one isn't on the candidate survey. It's on his own website where he says he supports the Jones-Mascaro bill of 2004, which gradually removes the federal credit you get for dependents on your state income taxes, and entirely eliminates the credit after just four dependents. A family of 5 would pay hundreds more each year than what they are currently paying.)

There's hardly a tax Jay Seegmiller would not raise.

Jay confessed in this candidate survey that he would raise taxes on:

Gasoline.
Vehicles.
Incomes over $75,000 which is 3 out of 4 households in the district in Sandy and Cottonwood Heights.
Capital Gains.
And on his own website he said he supports House Bill 45 from 2004 (a.k.a. the Jones-Mascaro Bill), which is essentially a child tax that runs against Utah's family values. The bill completely eliminates the federal deduction for dependents from being credited on your state income taxes after just four dependents.

It's sad but true.

And yes it's true that de-criminalizing marijuana for "medicinal" purposes could eventually lead to wide spread accepted drug abuse in public places such as city parks. Want proof? Read this article from the local Santa Cruz Sentinel where the city council lifted a smoking ban to allow marijuana smokers to gather in a tent at a park and smoke their drugs.

Jay, Abortion, Parental Rights & Your Tax Dollars

Jay Seegmiller answered a candidate survey about abortion.

In that survey he was asked if he supports requiring clinics that perform abortions on minors to notify the parents or guardians before the procedure? He didn't mark that he supports that.

Also in that same survey he was asked if he supports making it against the law to use your tax dollars for the use of performing an abortion. He didn't mark that he supports that either.

Jay Seegmiller thinks you should pay more for gas

1. Does Jay Seegmiller really want to increase gasoline taxes? Yes he does.

In a candidate survey that he completed he said he would support increasing gasoline taxes. He also said he would increase vehicle taxes in the same survey.

2. Does Jay Seegmiller really want to increase fees on the local extraction of oil? Yes he does.

In that same survey he said he would increase royalties on companies that extract oil. It's a common liberal belief that taxes on a business do not affect the customers. In reality that's just not true. If it costs more to get gas to the pump, it's going to cost you more to get gas out of the pump. That's simple economics. Oh, and he wants to raise royalties on natural gas extraction too: Say hello to higher heating bills.

3. Does Jay Seegmiller really want to enact stricter environmental regulations than the federal government already has imposed? Yes he does.

It says so right in the survey where he made known all his liberal beliefs. For years the federal government has banned the development of oil shale in Utah. Now after a summer of extreme high gas prices caused by America's addiction to foreign oil, the liberal death grip on our natural energy is loosening. But Jay Seegmiller's call for stricter regulations on our lands is a reminder of how America's addiction to foreign oil became so severe in the first place. But wait there's more, if you read Jay Seegmiller's survey responses carefully you'll notice that when Jay was given the chance to profess his support to develop Utah's natural energy resources like coal, oil, and natural gas, he refrained.
