Jay confessed in this candidate survey that he would raise taxes on:
- Gasoline.
- Vehicles.
- Incomes over $75,000 which is 3 out of 4 households in the district in Sandy and Cottonwood Heights.
- Capital Gains.
- And on his own website he said he supports House Bill 45 from 2004 (a.k.a. the Jones-Mascaro Bill), which is essentially a child tax that runs against Utah's family values. The bill completely eliminates the federal deduction for dependents from being credited on your state income taxes after just four dependents.
